  Rochelle Alers , a native New Yorker lives on Long Island and writes full-time. As the author of more than 25 nationally acclaimed African-American romance titles, including Vows, Hidden Agenda, Rosie’s Curl and Weave, Summer Magic, Welcome To Leo’s, and the Hideaway series, Rochelle Alers is one of the genre’s best-selling writers. She was voted Arabesque Books’ Most Popular Author in the 1995-96 reader survey, was declared among the Top Five Most Popular African-American romance writers in 1999, by Heart & Soul online magazine, among other honors, and a 2000 Gold Pen Award winner for best contemporary romance for Harvest Moon.

As an insatiable reader of romance novels, Alers longed for stories reflecting the lives and loves of women of color. She entered the market in the late 1980’s, authoring the best-selling Hideaway, which became the cornerstone of an internationally popular ten-book series.
